Transforming onboarding: Driving engagement, productivity, and future leaders
This presentation delves into innovative strategies to optimize onboarding, aimed at boosting new hire productivity and engagement. We will address key challenges, including inconsistent coaching practices, cognitive overload and overwhelm experienced by new hires, as well as the residual effects of remote working, including diminished community engagement and reduced opportunities for peer-to-peer learning. The discussion will include three interconnected phases: - Initial Onboarding (First 60-90 Days): A first encounter with onboarding that prioritizes essential outcomes to set new hires up for success. - Extended Onboarding (Months 2-12): A comprehensive approach to reinforcing foundational knowledge through targeted workshops and tailored coaching sessions. - Leadership Development Program: Developing future leaders through an intensive, exploratory development program targeting high-potential ICs. This initiative equips participants with the requisite skills to competitively pursue leadership opportunities while also leveraging these individuals to mentor and coach new hiresā€”a true win-win.
